HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY

Transfer of Power occurred on this 15th August 1947 only after Partition of Bengal and Punjab.
Millions had bathed with blood and screamed on that day for losing their motherland.
15th August 2012 is again a day of celebration with pomp. But can the sufferer of partition celebrate the day? It is an experience of bereavement for them to remember the day.

“This must not; the partition must go. Let us hope that may come about naturally, by an increasing recognition of the necessity not only of peace and concord but the common action, by the practice of common action and the creation of means for that purpose. In this way unity may finally come about under whatever form the exact form may have a pragmatic but not a fundamental importance. But by whatever means in whatever way, the division must go; unity must and will be achieved, for it is necessary for the greatness of Indian’s future.”
                                                                                                    - Sri Aurobindo.

“Being a Bengali from East Pakistan I have seen the untold miseries inflicted on my people in the name of independence – which is a fake and shame. I have reacted violently to this and even in my last film, which is yet to be released (Jukti Takko O Gappo) I have tried to portray different aspects of this. I am also aware of a complete break-down of moral values around me especially among the younger generation of today.”
